NEWS: ASHARE 188P released for 3rd Public Review
The ASHRAE Standard Project Committee 188 (SPC 188) released the proposed standard 188P: Prevention of Legionellosis Associated with Building Water Systems for a third public review period.
The current public review and comment period for 188P is as follows:
- Open: 25 Jan 2013
- Closed: 11 Mar 2013, midnight U.S. Eastern time
188P has been released for public comment twice previously, first in June 2010 and then in June 2011.
The purpose of 188P is to establish standard practices for preventing legionellosis associated with building water systems. As with the earlier versions, the standard outlines risk management procedures and will apply to all buildings other than single family residences. Buildings with identified legionellosis risk factors will be required under the standard to develop HACCP plans for control of Legionella.
